I'm a Trimcraft Maker!
Updated: Oct 30, 2020
An exciting little announcement
You may have noticed that a little yellow badge has stealthily appeared at the top of my web page... (or if you follow me on instagram @thecolourcaroline you may already have seen my announcement there) I am officially a Trimcraft Maker!
When Trimcraft put out the call for new crafters to be part of their Maker team, I immediately knew I had to apply, however I never in a million years expected to be chosen! There are some phenomenal crafters as part of Trimcrafts' existing design team - people I have admired and been inspired by for a long time - and I certainly didn't see myself as part of their ranks. While I've always been very creative, I only started scrapbooking and card-making properly about 4 years ago, so I'm certainly not a seasoned crafter. I have also come a long way in that time; when I look back on the things I made at the start of my crafty journey, I can't believe how amateur they look compared to where I am now!
That is why I am so so honoured to be chosen to be a part of the Maker team, for a fantastic brand who has been with me since day one of my journey. The very first crafty bits I bought were First Edition paper pads and since then I have continued to love every Trimcraft release. I'm beyond excited to be working with such a big name in the UK craft market, and one with such a strong ethos as well that aligns perfectly with my own - such as producing paper with FSC status, and working with the fantastic charity Mind.
I can't wait to get my hands on some new products in the new year and start doing what a Maker does best - making! I will be sharing my Trimcraft makes on a dedicated section of the blog and I hope you will enjoy reading about them; maybe I can inspire somebody to try something new, the way the TC design team have inspired me in the past.
In celebration, I've decided to share a few of my favourite past Trimcraft makes below. Please check back in the new year to see what I do with the new products!
Botanical Beauty has to be one of my favourite paper pads ever. The lush greens combined with the gold is to die for; so much so that I've also used the paper for my wedding stationery! I really enjoyed making this scrapbook layout; the butterflies and birds are perfect for fussy cutting and I think the geometric shapes also add a contemporary feel.
I made this mini-album with a slightly older FE pad - Floral Fusion. It was absolutely perfect for documenting our trip to Japan in 2018; I loved using the different oriental patterns to create this sunburst cover for the album, and I used every different paper from the pad at least once when decorating the inner pages too as the designs all worked so well with my photos. This album is absolutely one of my favourite keepsakes.
Beyond the Shore has to be one of my favourite paper collections ever as well. The blues, teals and purples are beautiful and worked so well with this aquatic layout. I love how the circles give the impression of lots of bubbles rising up the page. I also used the First Edition Under the Sea metal dies to cut out these adorable sea creatures, which I coloured in with pencil.
I recently shared a mixed-medium layout with FE All that Glistens, but last year I also had great fun making lots of Christmas cards with the collection too. The stickers and embellishments from the Dovecraft Time to Sparkle range coordinated so well with this pad, and made it simple to make quick and effective cards; I loved the gold, white and black combination and the colours worked really well with these kraft mini cards.
Here are a few more cards and scrapbook layouts I have created using TC products:
